Honoring its legacy as Japan’s first national institution for dental education, we continue to strive for further advancement. Through a six-year curriculum, we aim to nurture leading dentists and dental researchers who can play an active role both domestically and globally. As a front-runner in dental education, we provide high-quality instruction covering everything from the fundamentals to advanced clinical practice, with experienced faculty, robust educational and research facilities, and a wide variety of academic programs. We also actively provide students with opportunities to cultivate a global perspective and awareness through overseas training programs, by leveraging our network with partner institutions around the world. The spring semester of the first year starts with core liberal arts and sciences, interprofessional education, and international education. The fall semester introduces the basics of dental science, clinical dentistry, and researcher training. By the third year, students will have acquired a solid foundation in medical and dental sciences and related fields of medicine and will have developed a research mindset.
