The Faculty of Dentistry at Institute of Science Tokyo has a long history of leading dental care in Japan since its establishment in ����, producing many outstanding dentists, dental technicians, dental hygienists and dental scientists. Currently, the faculty consists of the School of Dentistry offering a six-year program and the School of Oral Health Care Sciences (Oral Health Care Sciences and Oral Health Engineering) offering a four-year program, which foster healthcare professionals with strong ethics, a sense of scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a global perspective. From April ����, Science Tokyo will pursue further advancement as an International University for Research Excellence. We provide a diverse and well-rounded education with advanced facilities and experienced faculty members.In addition to dental education, we also offer opportunities for interdisciplinary learning in collaboration with the School of Medicine and science and engineering departments to cultivate flexible and broad perspectives. Clinical practice allows students to develop practical skills and communication skills with humanity, through participatory clinical training at Science Tokyo Hospital. We also encourage research activities including research projects in the School of Dentistry and the final-year projects in the School of Oral Health Care Sciences to actively foster next-generation researchers.International exchange is actively promoted by leveraging our partnerships with over �� overseas universities and by nurturing healthcare professionals who are equipped with knowledge, skills and humanity, the faculty aims to develop world-class professionals who can contribute to society as leaders of next-generation dental care.The history of the Division of Clinical Dentistry can be traced back to ����, with the founding of the institution that would one day become Tokyo Medical and Dental University, when it functioned as an independent dental hospital affiliated with the School of Dentistry. It merged with the Faculty of Medicine Hospital in October ����, and since October ����, it has embarked on a new journey as Institute of Science Tokyo Hospital’s Division of Clinical Dentistry. Guided by its mission to provide world-class total health care, our hospital is committed to practicing patient-centered and holistic medical care, developing and delivering highly advanced treatments, and nurturing medical professionals with a rich sense of humanity.To meet diverse patient needs, the Division of Clinical Dentistry has assembled an equally diverse spectrum of services. From general care ‒ including operative dentistry and endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery ‒ to various specialized outpatient clinics and the Center for Advanced Interdisciplinary Dentistry, we strive to deliver comprehensive care personalized to each patient.In addition to providing highly specialized medical care in its capacity as a designated advanced treatment hospital, Science Tokyo Hospital is also highly regarded nationwide as an institution for training future dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. It conducts clinical and postgraduate clinical dental training under the guidance of experienced supervising dentists. School of Dentistry students go through a comprehensive, hands-on clinical training program where they are directly involved in patient care. The school also offers three postgraduate clinical training programs tailored to different career paths.
