Currently, the faculty consists of the School of Dentistry offering a six-year program and the School of Oral Health Care Sciences (Oral Health Care Sciences and Oral Health Engineering) offering a four-year program, which aim to foster healthcare professionals with strong ethics, a sense of scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and an international perspective.We provide a diverse and well-rounded education with advanced facilities and experienced faculty members.In addition to dental education, we also offer opportunities for interdisciplinary learning in collaboration with the School of Medicine and science and engineering departments to cultivate flexible and broad perspectives. Clinical practice allows students to develop practical skills and communication skills with humanity, through participatory clinical training at Science Tokyo Hospital. We also encourage research activities including research projects in the School of Dentistry and the final-year projects in the School of Oral Health Care Sciences to actively foster next-generation researchers.International exchange is actively promoted by leveraging our partnerships with over �� overseas universities and by nurturing healthcare professionals who are equipped with knowledge, skills and humanity, the faculty aims to develop world-class professionals who can contribute to society as leaders of next-generation dental care.TMDU’s Dental and Medical Hospitals were integrated in October ���� to become Tokyo Medical and Dental University Hospital. In October ����, the merger with Tokyo Tech represented another new beginning for the “Division of Clinical Dentistry” under the renamed Institute of Science Tokyo Hospital.In the field of dentistry, the Science Tokyo Faculty of Dentistry ranked first in Japan, and fourth in the world, in the ���� edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. In medicine, the Science Tokyo Faculty of Medicine ranked fourth in Japan. The Division of Clinical Dentistry is committed to providing world-class health care to meet diverse patient needs. It established the Oral Health Center, which focuses on perioperative oral care, as well as outpatient clinics specializing in sports dentistry, dysphagia rehabilitation, temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, and other fields. The Center for Advanced Interdisciplinary Dentistry assembles specialists from wide-ranging disciplines to provide high-level dental treatment. Our hospital is also highly regarded nationwide as a training institution for future dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians, and has produced outstanding practitioners who have gone on to excel as leading professionals both in Japan and abroad. Students in the School of Dentistry experience a comprehensive practice-based clinical training program that involves providing treatment to actual patients. In addition, the school offers three clinical training programs tailored for each potential post-graduation career path in dentistry.Our hospital is working to establish a system capable of responding to future changes in the structure of disease and to new infectious diseases, while remaining committed to fostering technological innovation and training the next generation of dental professionals.東京科学大学歯学部は、1928年の創設以来、わが国の歯科医療を牽引してきた歴史ある学部です。これまでに多くの優れた歯科医師、歯科医療技術者、歯科医学者を輩出してまいりました。現在は6年制の歯学科と4 年制の口腔保健学科（口腔保健衛生学専攻・口腔保健工学専攻）で構成されており、医療人としての高い倫理観、科学的探究 心、問題解決能力、そして国際的な視野を併せ持つ人材の育成を目指しています。本学部では、豊富な教育設備と経験豊かな教員のもと、多彩かつ充実した教育を実践しています。また、歯科医学教育にとどまらず、医学科や理工系との連 携による学際的な学びの場を提 供し、柔軟で広い視 野を養っています。臨床実習では、大学病院における診療参加型の教育を通じて、実践力とともに人間性やコミュニケーション能力を育むことができます。また、歯 学 科 の 研 究 実習や口腔 保 健 学 科 の卒 業 研 究など、研 究 活 動にも力を入れており、次世代の研究者育成にも積極的に取り組んでいます。さらに、海外50以上の大学との連携を生かした国際交流も盛んで、世界に羽ばたく歯科医療人の育成を支えています。本学部は、次代の歯科医療を担うリーダーとして、知識・技術・人間性のすべてを備えた、社会に貢献できる医療人の育成を目指しています。東京医科歯科大学歯学部附属病院は、2021年10月に医学部附属病院と統合され東京医科歯科大学病院となり、2024年10月の東京工業大学との統合により「東京科学大学病院歯系診療部門」として新たにスタートしました。歯学分野はQS世界大学ランキングで日本1位・世界 4位、医学分野も国内4位と高く、「世界最高水準のトータル・ヘルスケア」の実現を理念とし、医科・歯 科が 連 携した高度な医 療を提 供しています。周術 期の口腔ケアを担う「オーラルヘルスセンター」や、スポーツ歯科、摂食嚥下リハビリ、顎関節症、歯科ペインクリニックなどの専門外来を設置し、幅広いニーズに対応し、また高度専門治療を集約する「先端歯科診療センター」も整備されています。本院は将来を担う歯科医師、歯科衛生士、歯科技工士の育成機関としても全国的に高い評 価を受け、国内外に優れた歯 科医療 人を輩出しています。歯学科の学生は患者さんを実際に診療する診療実践型の包括臨床実習を経験します。また、卒業直後の歯科医師臨床研 修ではそれぞれのキャリアパスに応じた3つの研修プログラムを設定しています。本院は将来の疾患構造の変化や新興感染症にも対応できる体制整備を進めつつ、技術革新と人材育成に取り組んでいます。歯 学 部 長 笛木 賢 治首席 副 病 院 長 新 田 浩
